An innovative MedTech company based near Berlin is looking for a Team Lead Software Engineering to drive the creation of a next-generation medical platform focused on non-invasive retinal therapy. You’ll lead a small, highly skilled team developing intelligent systems that merge advanced imaging, real-time control, and precision-guided treatment - all in line with international medical standards.

 

 

What you’ll do:

• Lead a growing in-house software team and provide mentorship and technical direction
• Shape and review software architecture with a focus on performance, scalability, and regulatory compliance
• Write and review production code - especially in C++ (modern standards), CUDA, and image processing
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (QA, systems, regulatory) and external dev partners
• Guide the software side of agile sprint planning, milestone delivery, and documentation
• Ensure the development process aligns with ISO-compliant medical software practices

 

What you bring:

• 5+ years of experience in software development, ideally in C++ (20+), Python, and Linux
• 2+ years in a leadership or technical lead role, ideally in complex, regulated environments
• Strong grasp of GPU programming (CUDA) and real-time image/data processing
• Familiarity with medical software standards (e.g. IEC 62304, MDR/FDA compliance)
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work across disciplines

 

Bonus points for:

• Experience with embedded Linux, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or deployment on Jetson devices
• Previous work in the medical device space or other regulated industries
• Managing distributed teams or working with external software providers
